Who We Are
We’re a Malaysian Muslim family who loves to travel — but for years, we almost didn’t. Before our first big overseas trip to Japan, we were held back by exactly the fear a lot of families feel: that traveling with young kids would be more hassle than it’s worth, and that too much could go wrong.
It took us nearly a year of research to finally take that trip. It turned out to be nowhere near as scary as we’d imagined — and it changed how our whole family sees travel. Since then, we’ve traveled together as a multigenerational family, learned a lot along the way (sometimes the hard way), and decided to put it all in one place for families like ours.
What We’re About
Muslim Family Wanders exists to make halal-friendly, family travel feel doable — not intimidating. We share:
- Real destination guides, from halal-friendly cities to places you wouldn’t expect
- Practical tips for prayer, food, packing, and budgeting with a big family in tow
- Honest experiences from our own trips — including what went wrong, not just the highlight reel
We’re not a travel agency and we don’t pretend to have it all figured out. We’re a family that took the leap, and we want to help other families take theirs.
Why It Matters to Us
Travel gave our kids a bigger view of the world — different cultures, different ways of living, and the confidence that the world is worth exploring, not something to fear. If our experience can shave even a little of that fear off someone else’s first big trip, that’s the whole point of this blog.
Come Say Hi
We share a lot more in real time than we do here on the blog — trip planning, behind-the-scenes moments, and the occasional mishap. Come find us:
